Justine Braby met with colleagues of the WE-Africa Lab at the Center for the Study of Governance Innovation at the University of Pretoria this week to discuss work towards transforming the African economy towards a wellbeing economy.
Along with Gama Sibanda, Najma Mohamed, Mapula Tshangela, Lorenzo Fioramonti and Juanique Randall, who are all from southern Africa, they form the #AfricansThriving group of the WE-Africa Lab process.
The WE-Africa Lab is a think tank for change that started in November 2016 and will culminate in activities in November 2017 at the new Future Africa Campus at the University of Pretoria.
The #AfricansThriving Group sat for two meetings planning the next few months of activities, which included, among others, collecting narratives and building consensus for a new economy.
After the two days, Justine stayed on for collaborative work with Professor Fioramonti, Director of Governance Innovation, to discuss various work programmes. Prof Fioramonti will be visiting Namibia in June 2017 to launch his new book Wellbeing Economy: Success in a World without Growth.
